Proud to be a Chinese!

Anyone miss the Olympics Opening ceremony held on 08-08-08? Well, it was 29th Olympics, first ever in the Chinese capital of Beijing, China. Like many of my friends and colleagues, I purposely went off work earlier, then went out dinner with my love one and finally came back early and set ourself in front of the television set to catch this great show. It was truly breathtaking showpiece lasted 4+ hours. I'm really really felt happy and proud to be a Chinese, even though i', not from China....Bravo and thumbs up for China!!!

Below are some of the pictures from the opening ceremony, Enjoy!

A rare finding...

Throughout all these years of eating durians, I have never come across such a unique finding of the durians i ate. This finding happens few weeks back while we (me and my parents) are opening up one durian. Straightaway upon open, we are so surprise to see that this durian have 3 sides (normally when you open the durian, you can only see 2 sides) -> refer to the picture below:The durian taste was not bad, but also not very very special given that it's not expensive in terms of the price. But it's the shape and 'unique' finding that captures my attention. So I straight away went to my room to take my camera and snapped few pictures for the record and now share with everyone...Below is another shot of the whole opening of this special unique durian. Enjoy...the view of course!

Peace peace...let's run for Peace...

Yeah, it's time of the year again. Time for Peace Run again. This run will be held at Youth Park @ Penang Municipal Park on the 3rd August 2008 starting 730am. Yes, it's next Sunday. The distance is 6km, and since I stopped running after my KL run back in January, i feel that this run will be a good try for me to start running back. I have never taken part in any Peace Run before, so this will be my first time. The closing date for submission will be this Saturday. At first i planned to submit my entry form today after work, but somehow some of my ex-colleagues wants me to help them submit, therefore I'll be waiting for them until tomolo lunch before submitting the forms all together. Hopefully come next Sunday i will be having a smooth Peace run without much difficulties or muscle cramp like I always used to. 6km is easy to say, but somehow given that I stopped running for so long already, now thinking about it also I'm a bit worried...haha. Let's see come next Sunday :)

Attached above is the route for the run. If you are a PFS guy, this route will be somehow familiar since all PFS students have their cross country run there all these years...

Ice Cream anyone?

Ice cream lovers out there, take note! The ice cream buffet at City Bayview's Revolving restaurant is back!!! Starting 15 July every night, you can save your stomach and go enjoy lots of ice cream of Baskin & Robbins brands from 830pm right up till 1130pm. Here's the catchs: the buffet only starts at 830pm and there will only be 6 flavors each day in this eat all you can buffet ice cream, meaning not all those flavors at once. And I have called up and upon checking, half of the offered flavors are 'normal' regular ones. For example, yesterday when I asked them, I was told 3 of the flavors are Vanilla, Strawberry and Choco Chips...so it's up to you to go eat as much as you can of the Baskin Robbins ice cream if you think it's worth it. I wanted to go with my girl, but upon checking up the details, we felt that it wasn't really that worth it, so we might not go after all. One more thing, no reservation needed, just go there and drop by, eat and then pay up...Happy Ice Cream'ing' ya...hehe.

My Big Day...

Isn't this cake looks nice, sweet delicious and tempting? Yup, it's a blueberry cheese cake. I just love it, especially it's from the love of my life. A simple celebration, with the girl I love is all I need. Now I'm older by another year already. Hope I'm getting wiser too...hahahahha.

Lucky Me???

I do not count myself lucky all this while in terms of entering any lucky draws or contest. For the past 2 years, I do have some luck in lucky draws for the sports event that I entered however. But my recent luck really caught me myself in surprise.

Sometimes back in June, I entered a contest and was chosen as 1 of the lucky 5 to win a pair of First Class tickets to catch the DREAMZ in Genting. This magical and illutionist show was being performed and show in Genting daily from Feb till Aug this year. The show featured the white tiger, white lion and a pair of cute lovely dogs (forgot what breed liao). Featuring for the first time in Southeast Asia is a magnificent beast...the elusive white lion. Once thought to be a myth, the white lion first existed as whispered rumours in the wilderness of South Africa before finally being discovered in 1975. This highly elusive animal performs alongside the white tiger - possibly the most prized animal in modern times for its beautiful coat and stunning ice-blue eyes.

Shown above are the 2 tickets I won for the show on 12th July. Noticed that the price of the ticket is printed RM0. Hehe. I managed to get the exact middle sit in front of the stage behind the VIP row. I have never been to any European show or circus before, so for me this show is great. There were 12 of us in total catching this show together...

That's not all...sometime in June, I receive a call from the A1 Fanzone manager saying that I'm one of the April contest winner. They do normally send out newsletters and everytime I just deleted them coz now is not A1 period. FYI, only 3 winners are chosen for this April contest and the prizes are AAM membership for 1 year, exclusive rights to A1 team Malaysia and most important rm500 Touch&Go preload amount.

Only after the manager called me then I check my email to realized that I've really won. After completing all the needed paperworks and forms, finally I received my prizes through POS early of the week. Hooray...

Right now, I didn't enter any contest at the moment. But I do hope if I enter in the near future, I will be lucky again and win something again. I'm not greedy, just keep my fingers crossed :)
