My office is just beside the hotel where these young future champion stays...now I know why there are so many fit looking kids around for the past few days :)

THE Penang Badminton Association (PBA) will host the 100Plus National Junior Circuit Zone A competition at the PBA Badminton Hall, Bukit Dumbar, Penang on Feb 25.

Organising chairman Kevin Loh said the last time PBA hosted the tournament was in 2005 and will now host the four-day first leg event while Perlis will stage the second leg in Kangar in April.

He said junior players from Kelantan, Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Kuala Lumpur will compete in Zone A and battle for a spot in the National Junior Circuit Grand Prix finals in Kuantan at the end of May.

Kevin said the players will feature in the singles and doubles in the Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 Boys' and Girls' categories.

Each state can register a maximum of six singles and six doubles pairs per category while as hosts, Penang will register about 70 players.

The organising committee has scheduled all matches to start at 9am and finish by 6pm in order to get more school children to attend and to encourage better public participation.
