We invite you to attend our yearly Chingay parade starts at 7.30pm at Padang Brown, Dato Kramat, this Sunday 21st December 2008. This year, in order to have all Christian friends to join us, we have moved forward the Pesta Chingay Parade from the traditional date of 25th December to 21st December 2008.
Our Penang Chingay Parade traces its origins to a float decorating competition held in 1905. The event is a massive multi-cultural and international event with parade of traditional Indian, Malay & Chinese dancers, Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Ms Pesta top 5 (in trishaws) and 30 team of Chingay from all over Malaysia.Come and experience this unique celebration with us. The parade would begin at Padang Brown in Datuk Keramat at 7.30pm, and end at the Esplanade field at 8.30pm, followed by a three-hour cultural performance there.
Notice - The following roads will be closed for the Chingay parade this Sunday starting from 7.30pm:Jalan Dato Keramat - Jalan Penang - Jalan Burma - Jalan Transfer - Jalan Seri Bahari - Lebuh Chulia - Jalan Masjid Kapitan keling - Lebuh Light.
