New slip road leading to bridge opens tomorrow

A newly-constructed slip road from the North-South Expressway to the Penang Bridge will be opened to traffic starting tomorrow.

Penang Bridge Sdn Bhd (PBSB) said the existing slip road at Km139.2 on the north-bound stretch of the highway would be closed entirely and substituted with the new slip road at Km140.1.

In a statement yesterday, PBSB said the new one-kilometre slip road was part of the Penang Bridge widening project. It is also an initiative to ensure smoothness of traffic movement for bridge users from Juru heading towards the toll plaza, without disrupting the traffic going further north.

PBSB advised motorists to observe the directional signage heading towards the toll plaza to avoid overshooting the slip road.

Should motorists fail to notice the new slip road, PBSB said they should make a U-turn at the Prai interchange.

There are so many nice photos about Penang Bridge on the web. Love it!!!
