8th of March 2008....the political tsunami hit Malaysia and for the first time ever, the Barisan Nasional party lost 5 states to the opposition parties. Since then, the oppositions have formed Pakatan Rakyat collision which consists of DAP, PKR and PAS. Since then also, Anwar Ibrahim is back to the parliment and not forgetting BN has successfully wrested back Perak state from Pakatan led government with some dirty tactics and the drama is still ongoing pending court and sultan's decisions.
Today 8th March 2009, marks the one year anniversary since our last election and also since Pakatan Government comes to office at Penang, Selangor, Perak (for 10 months), Kelantan and Kedah. How well have they done remains to be your own judgement but certainly from my own opinion, we do need these oppositions to counter BN and fight against dictatorship. Whoever it is whether it's Pakatan or BN, let's hope they are doing a good job so that they can be voted in again when the next general election comes...
