Tennis: US Open enters final straights

After more than 1+ weeks of good matches and battling tournament, it's down to the final 4 in the Mens Single Open championship at the Flushing Meadows. The first semi finals will be between 3rd seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic against the Swiss Master Roger Federer. This will be a gigantic battle between the two and the game starts at 11am local time (meaning 11pm Malaysia time). Federer does seems to be struggling to beat his opponents in the last 16 and quarters and coupled with his lost of form since the turn of the year, I see that he's in for the hard time with public enemy no1 Djokovic after his comments towards American hero Andy Roddick in the post match interview by the court side. The winner of this match will be up against the winner of semi final 2 between new world number 1 Rafa Nadal and Britian Andy Murray for the final showdown. It will be interesting to see how Murray can stop the red hot Nadal from marching into the final.

In the evening at 7pm local time (early morning here on Sunday morning Malaysia time), it will be the women single final between 2nd seeded Jelena Jankovic battle with 4th seeded Serena Williams. Serena may have won many grand slam before and has the experience of handling the pressure and receptions, but if Jankovic can handle herself well and play to her true form, then I reckons that she does stand a chance for the 1st ever grand slam title. Let's hope for a equally great match from both players.
